This & That

{Watch}
Have you been watching Victoria? So, so good!

I also just started Big Little Lies and I have to laugh with the re-setting they did for TV placing the show in Monterey, CA. Its one of my favorite places and its too funny seeing the locations they used.

Highly recommend both Stolen Beauty and We We're The Lucky Ones. Neither are particularly cheerful books but if you like historical family dramas they're both excellent.

{Wear}
These shoes are just too good (and on sale!). This dress is a new favorite and loving these oxfords for spring.

M and I finally made it over to 11 Howard for a drink this weekend. I'd love to go back and dine at Le Coucou but the upstairs bar, The Blonde has a great vibe as well and great cocktails.

This & That

Apologies for the radio silence over the past month, man things have been crazy. But as of 4:30pm on December 23rd I think I can say we've just about made it! Work is slowing down a bit for the holidays, I just finished my first semester of B-school and vacation starts tomorrow!
We're off on a long-anticipated trip to Morocco and I am so, so excited. I'll be sharing lots of photos along the way so don't forget to check out my Instagram and will post travel guides once I'm back. If you have any tips/recommendations please leave them in the comments!

I just read Victoria in anticipation of the new series starting on PBS in January and I really liked it, I can't wait to see it brought to life on TV.

This 'technique' for drying/styling wavy hair without heat is genius! Its probably going to be my vacation go-to as I don't enjoy doing my hair on the best of days.

This & That

I headed back to B-school this week (part-time/nights, but still, eek!), its been long time coming and I'm currently equal parts excited and daunted about what the next few years will hold. Right now I'm just grateful I've made it through the first week in one piece. One step at a time right? Though stats homework... what does that even mean?!

Other than attempting to adjust to a whole new routine this week (ha!), here are a few favorites from around the web.

{Read}
Aside from tons of lecture notes, I also finished The Dollhouse, which I would give a good but not great rating.

Two (one, two) really cool things I've been privileged, in just a small way, to be involved in at work this week. Yes, New Yorkers get annoyed when the UN is in town (the security!, the street closures!!) but this is big important stuff that I'm so proud to even be remotely connected with.

As a fellow non-driver and native Californian, I completely related with this hilarious piece.

{Style}
Blair can do no wrong in my book, by I truly love everything about this look. I have this amazing blouse in my shopping cart but I can't quite decide, would I really wear it in my everyday? Hard to tell but it sure is cute!

Looking for a couple of relatively inexpensive ways to update your fall wardrobe? I love these earrings and this silk scarf to add a fun touch to an outfit. Also, I'm desperately seeking the perfect pair of low, block heel pumps which are emerging as the trendy yet classic shoe of the season. And I think I found them (also in a super red & yellow here and a slightly higher heel/pointy toe version here!

{Beauty}
I just picked up some of this Deborah Lippmann cuticle treatment and it really does live up to the rave reviews.

{Travel}
This beautiful post from Ann has me wanting to book a trip to Bali ASAP.

I picked up this Stobi Rose from the weekly specials table at our local wine store a few weeks back simply because I loved the pink branding and didn't think I'd ever had a wine from Macedonia before.

This & That

This week has been a bit of a blur, but somehow its Friday! Earlier this week I headed out to CA to speak at a conference which was equal parts terrifying and exciting, and now somehow its all over and I'm home! Public speaking has never been my favorite pastime (but really is it anyones??) but practicing is truly the only way to get better at it. So, I'm considering this little adventure a good exercise in trial by fire and awarding myself passing marks with room for improvement ;) See Instagram for more! And with that, its time to enjoy the weekend and SUMMER!

A couple of things that have caught my eye this week -

{Sweat}
How often should you really wash your workout gear??
Just ordered these tennis sneakers, cant wait to test them out this weekend!

{Read}
I devoured The Singles Game in just a couple of days - a perfect summer read!

{Wear}
This is 100% my kind of outfit: classic and effortless. Unfortunately its way too hot for even a cotton turtleneck in NYC right now but one can always dream.

{Travel}
How beautiful are these photographs?! Already dreaming about a trip to Sweden!

Wardrobe Essentials: Pom Poms & Tassels

Pom Pom Sandals

Ok, so maybe these don't qualify as essentials, but they are just so fun! They are perfect for summer parties and would spice up a simple dress for a more casual wedding. I wouldn't invest a ton in this trendier style, but if you're looking to add a colorful and versatile sandal to your collection this summer, this would be my pick.

This & That

This camel saddle bag is a nice classic shape and looks really good for the price point - plus its already on sale!

Obsessed with these hair ties that create awesome messy buns and don't leave a dent.

Still lusting over these and these, neither of which are currently available in my size in the colors I like (womp, womp!) BUT they are available in tons of other colors/sizes to take a peek to see if you're in luck

For whatever reason my skin hasn't been terribly happy the past few months, so after quite a bit of research I'm going to test out this and this, which apparently has total cult status in the beauty world,  (Or alternatively known as: 'Jesus in a Bottle'). I ordered mine online here. Hopefully they live up to their promises!

Hard to believe but we've been in our apartment about 8 months now, and have yet to tackle the list of improvements needed, hey, you know what they say about the best laid plans.... But I am determined to get at least a few things checked off so we can actually have a housewarming party! Some great inspiration from Ashley, love her boho meets classic style and this amazing series on Apartment Therapy featuring homes from around the world.

For all of us currently snowed in on the East Coast, mother nature has given us a weekend filled with Netflix, face masks, cooking and online shopping. Here are a few of my favorite things for managing this period of hibernation.

Friday Favorites

Bixby Bridge

Yay, it's Friday! It's been a while since I did a favorites round up, but I had tried a bunch of good things recently and wanted to share.
{Watch}
Creepy but somehow captivating. Plus I love anything dance related so it was kind of a no brainer. I'm not ashamed to admit I've already watched the whole first season.

We're heading to CA at the end of next week to celebrate our one-year Anniversary and to spend Thanksgiving with my family. We're starting in LA and taking a little road tip up the coast, and can't wait to check out some new places and old favorites. Check Instagram for updates!

Favorite NYC Fitness Classes

I've always a big fan of workout classes, but ClassPass has really fueled that addiction. Granted, ClassPass isn't perfect, but the ability to take unlimited classes each month is a big perk to me. As I have tired a bunch, I thought I would share my current favorites and the ones I've got my eye on to try. I've marked my favorites on the map above, and listed out some others I like below.

Sunday Night Obsessions/Confessions

Because what great Sunday night doesn't end with some TV watching with a side of online shopping?! What, just me...

Is anyone else watching Outlander? I'm currently obsessed with both the books and the TV show. I'm in the middle of book 5 (I think?), and watching the show as it airs. I've already watched last night's episode twice, and feel another viewing will be happening before too long. It's not normally a genre I get into at all, and parts of it are so overly dramatic, but I.just.can't.stop!

I am currently loving all things pink and girly for spring. I already grabbed a pair of pink suede pumps (totally practical right... God knows where I am going to wear them) and I currently have this blush pink topper and hot pink summer dress in my Nordstrom shopping cart. Is it just me or is Nordstrom killing it lately with some of their contemporary lines?

Recent Favorites - It's (almost) Spring

It's finally almost spring - yay! (We're just going to ignore the fact that it snowed this morning in the city) I know I am more than ready for a bit of a spring refresh and have been scouring my favorite magazines and blogs in search of some new fashion and beauty inspiration. I wanted to share a couple of things that are making my list this spring.

1. Comfy weekend wear. A few weeks ago I saw that Journelle was running a clean out your closet promo and I jumped on the chance to trade in some old lingerie (donated to a good cause) in exchange for a few new pieces. New favorites include this and this.

2. False Lash Effect Mascara from YSL. I received a sample of this mascara from Influenster to review and I have to say I am really impressed. I have been loyal to Maybelline Falsies for years, but this new formula from YSL really does it all: great volume and length, as well as lash care.

3. New workout favorites. In the past couple of weeks I've tried The Fhitting Room and KPDance Body. Loved both of them. Totally different but great workouts and just what is needed to jumpstart the transition to warmer temps.

What are you loving for spring this year?

Oscars 2015: Best Dressed

I didn't watch the Oscars last night, but I did follow the red carpet fashion online and on Twitter. I wouldn't say any of the looks absolutely blew me away, but here are my top picks. Lots of classic silhouettes, pretty detailing and fantastic details. What were your top dresses from the red carpet last night?
